About us

Our Conservation View

An independent guide written for people who love the sea and want their care for it to count.

Conceptual 3D render, not a documentary photograph.

Why we exist

Fjordreelcacts began with a simple frustration. Surfers and coastal visitors are bombarded with green labels, guilt-heavy headlines and quick-fix products, yet clear, balanced guidance is hard to find. We wanted a place that follows an ordinary surf session outward into its real ecological connections and helps readers decide where effort genuinely pays off.

We would rather tell you a choice is "somewhat better" and be right than call it "planet-saving" and be wrong.

What we believe

  • Care beats guilt. People protect what they understand and enjoy.
  • No purchase is impact-free. We compare options honestly, including the option of not buying.
  • Local participation multiplies impact. Communities shape planning, water quality and habitat protection.
  • Evidence has edges. We show uncertainty instead of hiding it.

Editorial standards

We draw on peer-reviewed research, government and agency publications, and the published work of established organisations such as the Surfrider Foundation, Surfers Against Sewage, Save The Waves Coalition and the Ocean Conservancy. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews or affiliate commissions.

Corrections

If you spot an error or an outdated fact, please tell us. We review every correction request and update pages with a note when the change is substantive.
